The ship being evacuated

Two people will killed along with fourteen others injured when i twenty-six foot rouge wave his a cruise ship early Wednesday morning.  While cruising around just Northeast of Spain, three, twenty-six foot waves (about nine meters) crashed into the boat one after another.  Cruise line spokesman Michael Maratheftis said that the waves were completely abnormal and couldn’t have been detected.  As a result, five windows on the front side, or port side, of the boat were smashed in killing one German and one Italian.  The ship returned to Barcelona, where the cruise line is based out of, and the fourteen injured were hospitalized for precautions.  Spain’s state news agency reported that a sixty-two year old woman had both of her legs fractured when the waves hit.  The ship had 1,350 passengers and 580 crew members, the Greek ministry said.  All of the passengers on the boat were returned to Barcelona and flown home by the cruise line.

The Spanish Police Department arrested this morning Paolo di Mauro, who is considered by the Italian Government the third most wanted fugitive of the country. According to the Police, Di Mauro is the regent of the clan Contini of the Camorra, the most cruel mafia, responsible for most of the drug-dealing in Italy. He had been condemned to 17 years and 10 months of prison. He was in search and seizure since 2003 for homicide and other mafia-related crimes, and in 2007 the arrest warrant became international.
Di Mauro, 58 years old, was arrested altogether with another leader of the clan, Luigi Mocerino. The arrest was made at around 2:30 PM in a small neighborhood in Barcelona, Spain, after the two came out from a meeting with a lawyer.
According to the policemen that perpetrated the arrest, the criminals lived in Barcelona and at first showed fake IDs, but surrendered when the officers recognized them.
According to the investigators, both managed to introduce in Spain large quantities of drugs from the coast of Morocco.

For those of you who don’t know about them, ETA is a terrrosrist Spanish group that resorts to force in their effort to obtain the independence of the “Pais Vasco”. They have been putting bombs all around Spain since 1961, but they have not succeeded, and never will. After negotiations and several attempts from the Spanish government to make them stop, ETA has always come back, but with less strength lately. Even most of it’s activity happens in the “Pais Vasco” and Navarra, they frequently also attack in other parts of Spain. Their last operation center was established in Mallorca, where four explosions in the last month have terrorized the tourists and residents of the area, leading to a small decrease in tourism. The Police is working to find this squad and destroy it. Little by little (hopefully), they will arrest and take to prison all the terrorists and dissolve the group, so that everyone in Spain can live safer.
