It has been quite the year here at IMG academies. I cannot say that I am going to return home the same person that I was nine months ago. This can be a bad thing, but in the long run, I believe it is a great accomplishment. The things I have learned and experiences I have had this year are not comparable to anything else in my life. I can only image what next year holds for me. So here it is, the final Pendleton Panther post. It has been fun Mr. Kennedy. I cannot say that I always enjoyed writing these articles, but I did enjoy the ones that I found that were so intriguing. Most of all though, doing these assignments really kept me up to date on what was going on in the world. Sometimes, when the weeks start going by so fast year, and one looses count, one can forget that there is a world beyond that of IMG. Finals are tomorrow and Friday, and I will be stressed out the last two nights that I’m here. I mean, I guess that the teaches had to have us ripping our hair out as payback for all the crap they had to deal with.
Well it is almost the end of another school year! Where has the time gone? As excited as I am to start summer, I’m not too excited about the prospect of final exams. With the final exams comes the studying. That part can be extremly tedious and tiring. Even though we have learned all of the material before it seems to kind of fall out of our brains. It is not easy to remember all of the material from the beginning of the semester right until the end of the semester. Many people ask me am I worried about the exams, but I don’t really get nervous. It is just the long hours of studying for the exams that really wear me out. Just remember, we have a couple more days left until the summer break. Exams may be difficult but we get to have a long time off school after them. Good luck everyone!
Today was the last day of high school for all the seniors of the Pendleton School. To be honest, I have longed for this day for almost 4 years now but much to my surprise, I feel sad that it is all coming to an end. All the friends I have made in the past 3 years are going to leave and we may never see each other again. Looking back at every footstep I have taken, every accomplishment I have achieved, I want to thank my friends, the faculties of Pendleton and the staffs of IMG, who all supported me on a daily basis. I was always one of those people who disliked IMG and Pendleton and expressed my longing to get out of this ‘prison’ but I guess I am becoming one of those people who will miss every little thing that annoyed them during the years they have been here. Not only will I miss my friends, I will miss ‘The Pendleton Dress Code’, the broken printer, the dark classrooms, the repetitive food in the cafeteria, the rude kitchen ladies etc. Who knew saying goodbye to Pendleton and IMG was so hard? Soon, everybody will go their separate ways and start a new chapter in their lives but I am sure that everyone will miss the environment of this academy.
This week we have gotten the yearbook. Of course, I have never taken a good class picture. It is always the morning I am running late. But of course my peers did look very good. There was things from silly to sports to senior pages. Also this is the wonderful Finals. I have found either people are studying like crazy for them or they are just going in and like magic work. There is no good way to study for finals. But think after this week, its sunny days and sleeping in. Summer is here. Can’t believe that it actually is here. Junior year is over, and sadly some of my peers leave for college or just can’t come back. That is interesting about IMG, no matter what people come and go. Never know what happens people come and go. Been a great year, hope everyone else enjoyed it. Go home get good food, and not play sport for a week. Have a great vacation.
I have been to nearly five schools over the past 12 years and I can honestly say that Pendleton is the clear favorite. Many write off Pendleton for being an “easy” or “non academic” school, however, this year it has proven to be everything but that. Pendleton has a great staff in place that tends to the student’s needs, offer extra help and provide a fun academic learning setting. I honestly feel the people here are more than just teachers and they could be mentors. Many of the teachers are approachable and open to talk about anything, class work, homework or even life problems. At my previous schools I would hate going to class and would refuse to learn in the academic setting. However, here at Pendleton I enjoy going to class everyday. Although there is more work being offered this year, it is preparing us for college and can do nothing but benefit us. Pendleton is more than just a school; it is a comfortable environment that kids should feel secure at. The teachers are here to help and they want to see us succeed. Hardly ever has a teacher turned me away for asking for help. Pendleton is a huge chapter in my book of life and I can honestly say it is the most rewarding.
