Browns Trade Brady Quinn

Posted on: March 14, 2010

The Cleveland Browns traded quarterback Brady Quinn to the Denver Broncos for fullback Peyton Hillis, a 2011 draft pick, and a conditional pick in 2012. This trade comes after the Browns signed another quarterback, Jake Delhomme. Delhomme will be reunited with former Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren, who is the President of the Browns. They also acquired Seneca Wallace from the Seattle Seahawks in order to provide backup support for Delhomme. Quinn was a huge disappointment for the Browns. He was benched after 2 1/2 games last season in favor of Derek Anderson, who has also been released. However, he did eventually reclaim his job. He has been plagued by inaccuracy and never amounted into the player that he was expected to be for the Browns. He still can resurrect his career in Denver, where he will compete with Kyle Orton for the starting job. The Broncos reportedly were interested in acquiring Quinn last year in order to replace the departed Jay Cutler, now with the Chicago Bears.
