Jaguars Sign Kampman

Posted on: March 7, 2010

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed defensive-end Aaron Kampman to a contract. Terms of the deal were not released to the public. Kampman played eight seasons for the Green Bay Packer and was a two-time Pro Bowler. He moved to outside linebacker in 2009 because Green Bay switched to a 3-4 defense. He recorded 55 tackles and had 3 1/2 sacks last season. However, his season was shortened due to a knee injury, a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, suffered on November 22. Jacksonville’s pass rush ranked last in the NFL in 2009 and they expect Kampman to provide a much-needed boost. Kampman has 592 career tackles in 112 career games. He also has 13 forced fumbles and 4 recoveries. He played his college ball at Iowa, where he was a two-time Academic All-American. He was picked in the 5th round of the 2002 NFL Draft.
