The Pendleton Panther

Spain vs. USA

Posted on: February 24, 2010

The All Star Weekend that is being celebrated these days in Dallas has served as the meeting point for Jose Luis Saez and Jerry Colangelo in order to officially close the last details for one of the best basketball games that can be seen these days. The game, which will confront the national teams of Spain and the United States, will be played in August (exact date still to be confirmed) in Spanish territory. Its two biggest cities, Madrid and Barcelona, are fighting to hold a game that promises good basketball and spectacle, and that will be part of both teams’ preparation for the World Championships in Turkey, where Spain defends title. The last time they played each other was in the final of the Olympics, in 2008, a game considered to be one of the best in the decade, and where the US won 118-107.
