Tiger Woods to Speak Publicly

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods announced earlier today that he would emerge from his time away from the public eye. He stated that he would hold a private press conference for a select group of people including a small group of friends, colleagues, and associates as well as a few media outlets. This is a shocking opening for him as he is stepping out of his three months of silence ever since his SUV accident at his Isleworth community home back in November that sparked one of the largest media frenzies on his infidelities. He is to speak this Friday, February 19th at the clubhouse of the famed TPC Sawgrass Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where the PGA Tour has its headquarters. This is a very controlled setting as no questions are allowed and only a single camera will be in the room for satellite viewing. Three media services were invited and they are The Associated Press, Bloomberg, and Reuters. He is slated to speak about his past and what he plans for the future and the steps he is going to take. He is coming out at the same time as the third round of the Accenture World Golf Match Play Championship. Accenture was the first sponsor to drop him after news of Tiger’s sex scandals came out. This may possibly be an attempt to steal attention away from them and be his sort of seemingly inadvertent revenge. It will be interesting to see what happens as a result of this.
