Stallworth Signs With Ravens
Posted February 17, 2010on:
Wide receiver Donte Stallworth has signed a 1-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. The deal comes after Stallworth worked out for the Ravens on Tuesday. The contract is worth $900,000 with an additional $300,000 available in incentives. Stallworth was just released by the Cleveland Browns after being reinstated by the NFL following his 1-year suspension. Stallworth was suspended and served 30 days in jail for striking and killing construction worker Mario Reyes with his car while driving under the influence of alcohol. He pleaded guilty to a DUI vehicular manslaughter charge. This was a violation of the league’s personal-conduct policy. Stallworth was a huge disappointment for the Browns, only playing one season after signing a seven-year, $35 million contract in 2008. He only had 17 catches for 170 yards and 1 touchdown reception in just 11 games. Stallworth has 296 career receptions for 4,383 yards. He has played for the Saints, Eagles, Patriots, Browns, and now the Ravens.
