Saints Bring Back The Title

Posted on: February 8, 2010

For the first time in franchise history, the New Orleans Saints are Superbowl Champions.  In an upset against the Indianapolis Colts, the Saints fought through and rallied during the fourth quarter to win it all.  Drew Brees, the New Orleans quarterback, was named the MVP of Superbowl XLIV.  With Brees going 32 of 39, with 288 passing yards, he was able to throw two touchdown passes.  With Tracy Porter’s end of game interception that he took 74 yards to the opposite end zone, it seemed as though New Orleans was in the clear for a victory.  “The Saints made all the critical plays when they had to,” Manning said. “We didn’t.”  The whole city of New Orleans, which was struck with tragedy not so long ago, has proven that they can fight back, and bring this town back to what it used to be.  This win, will likely trigger a party that will last through Mardi Gras, which begins a week from Tuesday.  A bond has been created between Drew Brees and the city of New Orleans that will never be broken.
