Marshall Sets NFL Record

Posted on: December 14, 2009

Brandon Marshall has the chance to be one of the greatest receivers in the history of the NFL.

Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall set an NFL record by catching 21 passes on Sunday vs. the Colts. This broke Terrell Owens previous record of 20 catches in a game. Quarterback Kyle Orton tried to throw to Marshall an astounding 28 times in their 28-16 loss. The rest of the team only had 8 catches for 77 yards which is probably one of the reasons they lost. Marshall had previously set a team-record with 18 catches last September. Marshall now has 86 catches on the year, good for 1,008 yards, and is closing in on his third-straight 100-reception season. Marshall, nicknamed ‘The Beast”, is now 3rd in the NFL in receptions after getting off to a slow start due to injury.
