Back To the Brotherly Love

Reports out of Philadelphia are that Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers are close to a reunion after several years apart. Iverson this past week announced that he would be retiring from professional basketball. However, fans all over the country knew this four-time scoring champion had a lot left in the tank and wasn’t ready to give up the game he loves, just yet. The Sixers have offered Iverson a one-year; “non-guaranteed” contract for the rest of the season. The Sixers are a mere 5 and 13 but bringing in Iverson should add points to the scoreboard and put people in the stands. Iverson has been a part of four teams in his career but it all began for him when the Philadelphia Sixers took him with the number one pick in the 1996 draft. Being from Philadelphia myself, the town celebrated Iverson and loved him when he was there and I am sure that the fans will welcome him back with open arms. The Sixers are clearly struggling and Iverson could be the boost on and off the court that the team needs. Iverson has always been my favorite player and it would be a thrill to get to see him play in Philadelphia again.
