UFC Fighter Fights for his Life

Posted on: November 19, 2009

Brock Lesner after becoming the UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Brock Lesner, who has a current mixed martial arts record of 4-1 with notable victories over Frank Mir and UFC legend Randy Couture may have seen his last days as a mixed martial arts fighter. Brock Lesner, who became the UFC heavyweight champion 1 year ago, was hospitalized last week with a life threatening bacterial infection in his intestinal tract. Brock Lesner trainer Gregg Nelson said, “No one can tell, but it seems right now it’s something he’ll definitely recover from.”  Brock Lesner underwent minor surgery and is doing much better.  Lesner was released from the hospital and sent home on Tuesday.  Brock was scheduled to fight top heavyweight contender Shane Carwin later this month but the fight has been delayed indefinitely due to his illness.  No one really knows if Brock will ever enter the octagon again, but one thing that is for sure is that he is currently engaged in the most important fight of his life, the fight for his life.

  • Rob Dresser: Many people have a poor grasp of what this is about. At its core this is about advanced stage terminal illness and relieving those in that condition
