Hurricane Ida started out as a Tropical Depression and has now strengthened into a category 2 hurricane.  So far it has passed through El Salvador and Honduras.  Currently the Hurricane is passing over the Yucatan Peninsula and is heading somewhere between Louisiana and the Florida pan handle.  So far, 91 people in El Salvador have been killed due to the hurricane.  The heavy rain has caused flooding and mudslides in the nation.  The death toll could possibly rise even higher due to the fact that 60 people are still missing.  It is believed that the hurricane will hit Florida in the middle of the week.  Many people have begun to prepare for the worst, even though the weather experts have told us that the storm will probably weaken in the next few days due to the contact with land.  It is to be hoped that the storm does not strengthen into something that could potentially cause great destruction to many homes.
