President Barak Obama announced today that the swine flu is now a National Emergency. This announcement was because of the number of increasing people who have become affected with the virus. But shipments of the H1N1 vaccine are not flowing like originally planned. Death numbers have reached nearly 1000 due to the virus. While the regular flu vaccine is readily available the swine flu vaccine have doctors across the country in an uproar. The original plan was to produce and ship out 20 million doses of the vaccine. Many cities have only received 10 percent of the total number that they were due to receive. The troubling news that the producers of the vaccine have shipments ready to leave but somehow the product is not reaching their destinations in a timely manner. Many are confident that there will be plenty for all that want it can receive it eventually be available. Health officials have reported that the regular flu season has been mild and most recover within 2 weeks. The most vulnerable people are at risk for the swine flu are pregnant women, health care workers, people care for young children, and those with chronic medical condition.
