“The Truth Hurts”

Posted on: October 23, 2009

Everyone has probably heard of the saying ” the truth hurts”. I hear it all the time but I have now come to disagree with this quote. I think this is such a negative saying and it discourages people from looking at the truth. If you think about it, the truth does not hurt, it is the denial from accepting the truth that hurts. For example, if you are sick and you keep ignoring and denying the fact that you are sick, you would never get well again. However, if you look at the truth, you would go to the doctors and get the medicine you need in order to get the right medicine and get well. The truth does not hurt at all, it helps you. Whenever something bad happens and you deny it and push it back, it will only end up hurting you but if you look at the truth and accept it, nothing will ever hurt you. The truth or the reality is really just a signal that helps you from getting in deeper troubles and letting yourself out of the pain and difficulties. This is an advice for those people who are trying to stay ignorant when the whole truth is right in front of you to help you. This should apply to everything bad that happens let’s just face the truth and deal with it.
