Leona Lewis - at book signing

On Wednesday 14th October, the pop singer Leona Lewis was attacked during a book signing. Peter Kowalczyk, 29, was responsible for the attack, and was arrested. Leona was posing for photos and signing many books for her fans in Waterstones bookshop in London. The man apparently stepped forward from the line to get her autograph, and as she looked up punched her in the face. Leona immediately fled from the shop crying with sunglasses covering her face. No damage was done to her, but she was of course frightened and scared, and couldn’t finish the event.  She left a message on her Facebook page saying – “Leona was the victim of an unprovoked attack this afternoon at her book signing. The police were called immediately and medical attention has been sought. Leona is understandably shaken and apologizes to the fans she was unable to meet and complete signings.”
