It was game number 163 of the long baseball season. Normally there are only 162 games but this was a special playoff game between the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers. The winner of this game would earn the final spot in the post season and have to travel to play in New York to play the Yankees who had the most regular season wins. The game was one of the best games I have ever seen. The Tigers took an early 3-0 lead in the MetroDome. The Twins did not want any part of that and scored some runs for themselves. The game went back and forth the rest of the game with many great plays and hits. The game went onto extra innings and just when it looked like the Tigers were going to win, the Twins came back and tied it just in time to send the game into more extra innings. Then in the bottom of the twelfth with men on first and second, Alexi Casilla singled to right field to bring in the winning run. The Twins are headed to the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees.
