Burger King is Going Futuristic

Posted on: October 6, 2009

Burger King RevampBurger King which is the 2nd largest burger food chain in the world has decided to redesign their restaurants. Burker King plans on adding such things as red flame chandeliers, brilliant TV-screen menus and industrial-inspired corrugated metal and brick walls.  The idea of doing this is to add a more futuristic feeling to there restaurant, by allowing their customers to order their food right off a tv monitor sitting on there table.  But doing this upgrade will not come cheap.  It has been estimated that these renovations will cost between $300,000 to $600,000 per restaurant, and with over 12,000 restaurants world wide that would be a lot of money. The company said “the new design, called “20/20″ at the Miami-based chain, is already in place at about 60 locations around the world. Burger King expects about 75 more redesigned restaurants to be open by the end of next year. But it will take years before all its locations are transformed.”  I personally would like to see these new renovations happen, but from a financial stand point does it make sense, im not quite sure.
