Florida's Cypress Gardens closes

This is a Grand theme park located in Winter Haven, Florida.  It is just Southwest of Orlando.  Cypress Gardens was a leading attraction park before Disney took over.  The reasons why this thirty-seven year old park was shut down is that it has been hit by three hurricanes.  It was sagging in its attendance and ownership changes added on to the fact that this year they had about a hundred employees.  The current owner, Land South Adventures, said the park was no longer financially viable.  It opened in 1936 and then it was sold in 1985. The property has been bought and sold several times since.  In the years of 2003 to 2007, it struggled for owners, because they had to make decisions on a deal that involved several bodies of government, state and local, and a nonprofit conservation group.  I can remember going to Cypress Gardens last year when it looked like it had some productive business.  Now since it is closing, I don’t know what people will say.
