NFL Week 1 Review

Posted on: September 16, 2009

NFL week 1 is officially over and a few players seemed to stand out among the rest. Adrian Peterson racked up 180 rushing yds, to go along with his 3 tds. Also his teammate, Brett Favre, threw for 110 yds and 1 touchdown, but the most impressive stat of his in this game was that he had 0 interceptions.  Turnovers have always been a problem for the future hall of famer and as a result, holds the record for most interceptions thrown.  Both Peterson and Favre helped the Vikings to beat the Brown’s 34 to 20.  Another stand out performer this week was Drew Brees. He led his New Orleans Saints to a win over the Detroit Lions while, throwing for 358 yds and 6 TDs coming up 1 TD short of tying the record for most passing TDs in a single game. Tom Brady, in his first game back, led the Patriots to a win over the Bills 25 to 24 throwing for 378 yards,  2 TDs and 1 interception.  Tom Brady also proved to be just as clutch as always leading his team down the field throwing an 18 yd TD to tight end Ben Watson with 2 min left on the clock. This TD ended up winning them the game.  All and all the first week of the NFL seemed to be one which showed much promise for an exciting season this year.
