A retired man in Michigan went out fishing for a relaxing time and ended up catching a 41.5 pound brown trout. This fish smashed the state record and is an unofficial world record. It all started after the man had caught a few salmon and then hooked into the monster trout and had the fight of his life. Todd Kalish, the regional fisheries supervisor says this is a great deal for the local fishing community. It confirms the world class fishing Michigan has to offer. As word spread around the town hundreds flocked to pear pressure charters to get a look and a picture of the monster fish. Fishing buddies of Tom Healy say the catch could not have happened to a better person. He has spent hours and millions of casts on the river where the monster was caught. He has fished the river for over 40 years definitely putting in the hours to learn the waters.
