Ishikawa picked for Presidents Cup

Rio Ishikawa a 17 year old sensation who has won four times on the Japan Golf Tour is known in Japan as the “Shy Prince”. Greg Norman the International captain said he was impressed that he added Ishikawa to his team as a captain’s pick for the Presidents Cup, making Rio Ishikawa the youngest player ever in these matches. The President Cup will be on Oct 8 to 11 at San Francisco (Harding Park). Norman in a interview said that Rio Ishikawa “was engaged, he walked around the entire room, introduced himself to everybody and making sure everybody understood that he wanted to be on the team”.Ishikawa is the first Japanese player in the Presidents Cup since Shigeki Maruyama in 2000. Ishikawa has been in David Leadbetter Golf Academy practicing and visiting coaches and getting prepared to play big tournaments.The rest of the International team consists of Geoff Ogilvy, Vijay Singh, Camilo Villegas, Retief Goosen, Ernie Els, Angel Cabrera, Mike Weir, Robert Allenby, Yang and Tim Clark.
