Making Lemonade out of Lemons (or that sugar-free watery yellow stuff they serve in the cafeteria)

As we all know, the cafeteria food is less than fabulous.  As a matter of fact, it’s disgusting.  After a long three hours in school all one wants to do is enjoy a nice, healthy, energizing lunch before their sport.  Unfortunately, that’s not always possible here.  It’s usually a choice between a 2000 calorie hunk of butter and oil mixed in with noodles and some kind of mysterious meat, or croutons with dressing and air.  So last week, I experimented a little bit.  I tried to make the most of what I was being offered.  One day,  I tried a peanut-butter and banana sandwich on wheat toast.  To my horror, it was more like a plastic and banana sandwich on wheat toast.  NEXT! Then, I went without food the whole day hoping by dinner time the salad would taste like a five-star gourmet meal.  That didn’t happen.

I think we should all risk getting kicked out, jump the fence and go to Subway.

Dear Unhappy Eaters:

I feel for your plight. May I make a suggestion? Perhaps it would be beneficial for you to survey your fellow students about they food options they would like in the cafeteria. The survey could then be used to start a petition which could be presented to IMG management.

You have a voice!!! Good Luck!

Maybe a united voice from IMG students, coaches and faculty could help to bring about a change in the cafeteria offerings. Poll your fellow diners to discover what foods they would like to see in the cafeteria. Tally the results and present them to IMG Administration. The worst case scenario is that the menu remains at its status quo. The best case scenario is that appetizing, tasty and healthy meals will be served three times a day! The way I see it, you’ve got nothing to lose!
